Repair process flow of converter refractory lining

  1. Technical preparation before construction and maintenance of converter refractory:

(1) Be familiar with maintenance construction design drawings and review them.

(2) Sort out and complete the construction schedule.

(3) Sort out and complete the use plan of refractory materials for masonry repair converter.

(4) Sort out and complete the masonry repair process plan flow sheet.

(5) After checking the refractory materials used for converter masonry repair again, it shall be reported to relevant departments for review.

(6) Before construction, conduct detailed analysis and research and technical disclosure on technical details, design requirements, quality standards, construction technology, etc.

  1. Commencement preparation for converter maintenance and masonry construction:

(1) Power, lighting, construction water, etc. are fully installed.

(2) The commissioning of large equipment and mechanical construction equipment on the construction site is complete.

(3) The on-site construction scope outside the furnace is waiting for the approval, and the furnace is cleaned.

(4) The refractory materials required for early construction have been transported to the construction site.

  1. Maintenance and masonry process flow of converter:

(1) The converter is composed of straight pipe, end wall and furnace mouth. Its diameter, inner diameter and length shall be determined and verified.

(2) First, Party A's converter section needs to use the furnace mouth cleaning machine to clean and remove the refractory materials inside the furnace mouth, and then manually remove the remaining parts.

(3) Remove the air hole brick and support the 500mm screw rod.

(4) When repairing masonry, some parts are not easy to carry out construction. When masonry, the converter body can be slowly moved to a position convenient for construction before masonry.

(5) During the rotation of the furnace body, no personnel shall stay in the furnace, and the refractory materials and construction tools in the furnace shall be transported out or reinforced.

(6) Remove the air hole brick and its upper 4 to 5 layers, and remove it upward according to the actual situation until the length is not less than 280mm.

(7) In order to prevent the slag in the furnace from contaminating the masonry, square wood is used to cling to the newly-built refractory brick masonry along the furnace length, and then wooden wedge is used to increase the stress surface. The spacing of screw rods is generally 800 ~ 900mm.

(8) For repair and masonry of air hole brick, the refractory castable shall be laid under the brick without gap.

(9) Remove the old masonry of the air hole brick up the furnace mouth until the length of the refractory brick masonry is not less than 280mm.

(10) Repair the refractory brick masonry of the air hole brick up the furnace mouth. Use magnesium chromium brick to place 3mm thick paperboard every three bricks along the axial direction, and the junction is close. The refractory castable is also laid under the magnesium chromium brick masonry without gap.

(11) After the screw rod is supported, slowly move the furnace body to the masonry position convenient for masonry of the upper furnace mouth, and repair and masonry the refractory of the furnace mouth.

(12) After the refractory repair of the upper furnace mouth is completed, the supporting arch of the furnace mouth shall be close to the masonry under the arch, and the arch foot bricks shall be built in the wall and locked.

(13) Support rods on the bottom of the furnace mouth and on both sides of the furnace wall. The side wall support shall be at the horizontal center of the side brick to avoid affecting the repair and masonry of the lower furnace mouth.

(14) Slowly move the furnace mouth and start masonry to repair the lower furnace mouth, which is consistent with the repair method of the upper furnace mouth. After the masonry is completed, the interface of the side wall shall be tightly fastened.

(15) After the repair of converter refractory fire brick masonry is completed, the furnace body shall not rotate at will without baking.
